The Retail Equipment and Fountain Technology Technical Committee provides a platform for information transfer and innovative technology for beverage products dispensed via fountain or other retail and marketing equipment. The committee is represented by beverage and liquid food producers, fountain and marketing equipment manufacturers, related suppliers and consultants and service providers. These members openly share developments and technologies in order to support the retail and marketing segment of the beverage industry. All related topics should find this a forum to be discussed and presented openly.

The Sanitation for Fountain Beverages course addresses the protocols and procedures to ensure safe and high-quality delivery of fountain dispensed ice and beverages consumed by millions of consumers globally. This course allows for a better understanding of sanitizing solution options, beverage dispenser cleaning, ice container cleaning, flushing syrup lines, and proper material handling. The lessons are designed for any organization dispensing fountain beverages, or even just using an ice bin, can now have industry recognized training available for personnel.

Congress Announces Groundbreaking Plastics Task Force - A bipartisan group of lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives launched a working group to find solutions to "boost investment and education around recycling technologies and recovery." The Congressional Plastics Solutions Task Force is made up of members of Congress in addition to businesses in the private sector. The American Beverage Association proudly joined the task force to lead by example and help foster innovative ideas to reduce the amount of new plastic being produced and increase the amount of plastic being recycled.
International Council of Beverages Associations Announces Election of New Officers - The International Council of Beverages Associations announced the election of Jorge Terrazas Ornelas, director general of La Asociación Nacional de Productores de Refresecos y Aguas Carbonatadas A. C. (ANPRAC), to the presidency. Mr. Terrazas is joined by Gavin Partington, director general, British Soft Drinks Association (BSDA), who will serve as ICBA vice-president.
