Featured News From ISBT

ISBT’s Board of Directors announced the decision to cancel this year’s annual meeting, BevTech 2020, which was scheduled for April 20-22, 2020 in San Diego, California. ISBT holds its annual meeting, BevTech, each spring to transact the Society's business, to provide a forum for presentation of scientific and technical papers and for meetings of the technical committees. Concerned for the health and safety of its members & the residents of San Diego, the Board felt that cancellation was the only option, based on the best interests of the attendees, recommendations of relevant health authorities, and direction from government offices.

I SBT has already reached out to all registered members and exhibitors to communicate the process by which they can choose to receive a full refund or apply their registration fees to BevTech 2021. If you did not receive a link to a survey to indicate your preference, please contact the ISBT Office .

The board regrets any inconvenience this cancellation will cause for attendees. ISBT also reminds all registered attendees and exhibitors to cancel your flights and hotel reservations. For those who had reservations at the Doubletree Mission Valley, please refer to the hotel’s current policy for existing reservations posted at  https://www.hilton.com/en/corporate/coronavirus/  .

We look forward to an even bigger and better event in 2021. BevTech 2021 will be held April 26-28, 2021 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

If you work in the field of microbiology, these topics will be old hat. But for those of us who are relying strictly on high school biology, we might need a refresher. And this course is just that — an overview of the broad topic of microbiology and how it plays into the food and beverage industry. This course will also cover the various types of microbes including yeasts, molds, and bacteria.
