Attention parents & guardians of children with dyslexia on IEP/504 plans ...
A new school year can be stressful for both you and your students. Help kick-start the new school year quickly by providing your child's teachers with a one page introduction about them. Teachers have many students and anything to help them understand your child's specific needs quickly and easily is helpful.
We have created a letter template for you to follow. In addition, you might want to have your child complete a Self-Advocacy Accommodations sheet to email to their teachers. Find links to both of these documents below.

Are you interested in becoming or hiring a Certified Structured Literacy Professional?
|
|
The Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI), an affiliate of the International Dyslexia Association, issues certifications to those who possess the knowledge and skill necessary to implement Structured Literacy practices.
The Knowledge and Practice Standards for Teachers of Reading is a comprehensive evidence-based resource that outlines the knowledge and skills that all teachers should possess in order to deliver effective instruction and ensure that all children become proficient readers.
Select CERI certifications are awarded only to those educators who have demonstrated the ability to have a meaningful impact on the rate of improvement for students identified as “at risk” for reading failure or identified with a Specific Learning Disability, including dyslexia.
