The CHAOS Cure! ~FlyLady
This week we are in Zone 5; Our Living Room and Zone 1; Entrance, Front Porch, and Dining Room!
Zone 5 is the living room, family room, or den. But, only focus on one this week. After a few months, you will have them decluttered them all and the detailed cleaning will be a breeze.
Your task is to declutter this area. Spend 15 minutes a day this week doing something, anything, in this room. It did not get dirty in a week and it will not get clean in a week, but you will be making head-way. It is a trend! Get in the habit of decluttering in small segments of time. Decide what time of day you are going to tackle this little job, set a timer for 15 minutes, and just do it.
August's Monthly Habit: Doing a Load of Laundry Each Day!
Our habit for August is working on Laundry. If we can control our laundry by doing one load of laundry per day, laying our clothes out each night and getting dressed each morning becomes a simple habit to practice. Our habit this month is all about making our lives easier. So, join us in our new habit of doing one load of laundry each day. Check out the great info below.
A load a day keeps CHAOS away! – FlyLady
Sometimes the most daunting part of doing your laundry is getting it started, but if you make automatically sorting your clothes part of your routine, it's much easier to just throw in a load! Make laundry easier on yourself and check out some of our tools in The FlyShop!
Thursday is our Errand Day!
Thursday at FlyLady is Errand Day. We use this day to get out and run whatever errands we need to do for the week. Make a list of wherever you need to go and whatever you need to do during the day today and then get to it. Please be safe out there. This can include:
- Grocery shopping
- Doctor appointments
- Dentist appointments
- Dropping the clothes off at the cleaner
- Dropping of clutter donations
And tons of other things. If it needs to be done outside the house, today is the day to do it. Make a list of these things and check them off as you do them.

Zone 5: Mission #4 Thursday
Dear Friends:
Today is our last day in the Living Room! Let's have a detailed vacuuming session. This means to vacuum the room, making sure to get up against the baseboards and to get under the furniture. Please be careful that you don't hurt yourself trying to move furniture. If it is too difficult to get under the couch or chairs then just try to get as close to the base of the furniture as you can.
FlyKid Mission #4 Thursday
Hi Kids,
Today I want you to open up the doors of your closet and check to see if you have any clothes that have fallen off of the hangers and have become jumbled up on the floor of the closet.
Set a timer or ask Mom or Dad to set a timer for 5 minutes and see how much you can hang back up. If you can't reach the rod to hang these things back up, ask Mom or Dad to give you some hangers, you then hang the clothes on the hangers, then ask for help to hang them up. If you need to set the timer again, then do so for another 5 minutes. If you find some things that no longer fit or you do not use, put those in a bag and give them to a parent to bless someone else with.
Remember less stuff to clean and put away means more time to play.
Have fun!
We have a Student Control Journal for you, it's FREE.
