Enjoy a free public lecture by Joel Leja, assistant professor of astronomy and astrophysics and Institute for Computational and Data Sciences Faculty Fellow at Penn State. Leja will give an overview of the James Webb Space Telescope-- which is the culmination of 30 years of planning, 20 years of construction, and 11 billion dollars of funding. It is the most expensive and complex astronomical observatory ever built, and Leja will also discuss some of the early and tentative discoveries made.

No matter what geek is within you, this event welcomes you! If you live on campus, there will be a free shuttle service from the East Parking Deck on Bigler Rd every 30 minutes starting at 9:30 am.
