The Head Start Sand Box™ Magazine is the idea of Donna Veatch, former R7HSA Executive Director. The magazine first launched the Summer of 2013, and is an innovative blend of early childhood whimsy & research-driven content.

The Magazine features a range of timely topics in  early childhood education pertinent to the Head Start professional, all Head Start programs, the Head Start federal office, legislators involved in Head Start, and the early childhood community at large. It 'takes a village' to get young ones ready for success in school. Local programs and communities comprise this 'village' and have amazing stories to share how Head Start (celebrating over fifty years of service) has made a huge impact on the lives of countless children and families.
