President’s note



I love this time of year. All of our friends from the North are returning. The CME finishes the LPGA season with great weather and great play. (Be sure to watch for the email next year in August to sign up and volunteer.) Our chapter serves as the Marshall on the par 3 hole 5 and we have a lot of fun!

The summer leagues have ended-thanks again to Mary Kay Rueth – Stoneybrook, Suzi Ward -Summer travel league with some assistance from Deb Shepard…and Judy Freiberg – Hibiscus. Many thanks to them and all their volunteers who put together successful events for our members to get out and play.

Winter Leagues have kicked off with play on Tuesday for 9 holes with Mary Erickson at Hibiscus, Wednesday at Quail Run is being handled by Peggy Meyerowitz. Our 2 leagues on Saturdays will be at Stoney Brook handled by Mary Kay Rueth and Kerstin Koenig will coordinate Quail Village. The leagues have wonderfully experienced coordinators under the direction of Michelle Riordan. Please be mindful when participating in our league play to arrive on time and adhere to the rules of the course as to attire and coolers.

It was wonderful to see so many of you out supporting our season opening ABCD golf scramble mixer at Quail Run in early November!

With 48 players enjoying some fun golf, and great camaraderie and prizes after golf, it was a warm welcome to our newer members, who integrated so well and had a good time.



The Quail Run course was in good shape and the buffet dinner was delicious, so thank you all for kicking off our season in style.

The results were really close, and the winners were:

Congratulations to all! 

Many members showed up to think pink at the annual kick off dinner at the Quarry. There was a lot of fun, costumes, and awards.

Anniversary awards were handed out to those in attendance that were celebrating 5,10,15, and 20 years as members.

The spirit award was awarded to Bonnie Blanchard for her dedication to the chapter and building our membership.

We have 4 Winter Leagues running this 2023-2024 season. Please note that there will be ONE email announcement each week with the upcoming play open for registration. Members need to take note of the Registration Open/Close windows for each event and sign up as registration opens.

"Biggest Loser Handicap Challenge"  

Not taking enough club is a common error for golfers. It’s why shots often come up short or you overswing so much that you end up hitting a poor shot.

When you are hitting a shot longer than 80 yards from the green, take one more club than you think you need. The confidence that comes from knowing you have enough club should create a smoother more rhythmic motion.

All Event or League Play registration credit card charges

will appear on your credit card statement as:

CPP*SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

When a Member 'disputes' a registration charge,

the Chapter is charged a $25 fee for each disputed transaction 

We ask you to please be mindful of this - going forward, the $25 fee for disputing a legitimate charge will be passed on to the member
