Pick Your Play at Albert McCormick

A returning program! Fun recreational games and sports for children ages 8 to 12 years old.


4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 7 to June 25.

Pickleball players wanted

Spectrum Waterloo Region’s Rainbow Community Space is proud to host the first Pride Pickleball Fundraiser Tournament and Player Clinic in Canada on Saturday May 18 at RIM Park.


This event is open to players of all skill levels.


May 18 schedule In the morning, join us for a Player Clinic. This is where you can refine your skills or learn how to play for the first time.


In the afternoon, show off your pickleball skills.


Proceeds go to Spectrum's Sports and Recreation programming for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Power skating for U7-U14

The City of Waterloo and Twin City Hockey Skating School offer two-week pre-season power skating clinics at RIM Park.

 

The program is conducted in August so players can get prepared early and improve their skating skills for the upcoming season. 


The 2024 program runs Aug.19-23 and Aug. 26-30.

Did you know we have indoor ice skating throughout the spring and summer?


Waterloo rinks offer parent & tot, public skates and adults only skates.


Fitpasses are available for frequent visitors.

Every Kid Counts Day

On Saturday, May 4, the City of Kitchener will host the first Every Kid Counts Day.


Every Kid Counts provides free 1:1 support for children and youth with disabilities at City of Kitchener and City of Waterloo summer camps. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Every Kid Counts program.


Location: Lyle Hallman Pool (Grand River Recreation Complex).

Time: 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.:

  • barbeque
  • a free concert from Erick Traplin
  • $2 public swims
  • and more!


All are welcome to attend but registration is required for the swim times:

2 to 3:30 p.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m.
