Funded Applications
California Consulting INC today announced that our grant writers have now written more than 1,000 competitive grant applications that have been awarded to clients.
Since opening in 2004, California Consulting grant writers have written 1010 competitive federal, state, and private foundation grant applications awarded for clients. This milestone achievement is the result of hard work and dedication by the grant writing team at California Consulting, Inc.
Announcing the news California Consulting Director of Operations, Dan Rodriguez, commented, “Surpassing 1000 awarded competitive applications is an enormous achievement. Our grant writing team works exceptionally hard and cares deeply about the work product. The Active Transportation Program was created to encourage increased use of active modes of transportation, such as biking and walking. Funding from the Active Transportation Program may be used to fund the development of community wide bike, pedestrian, safe routes to schools, or active transportation plans in predominantly disadvantaged communities. The goals of the Active Transportation Program are to:

Increase the proportion of trips accomplished by biking and walking or Increase the safety and mobility of non-motorized users.
·
Advance the active transportation efforts of regional agencies to achieve greenhouse gas reduction
·
Enhance public health, including reduction of childhood obesity using programs including, but not limited to, projects eligible for Safe Routes to School Program funding.
·
Ensure that disadvantaged communities fully share in the benefits of the program.
·
Provide a broad spectrum of projects to benefit many types of active transportation users.

Danielle Sotelo, Senior Project Manager

California Consulting, Inc. wishes to congratulate Danielle for beginning her twelfth year working for the company. We appreciate Danielle's leadership and hard work for our clients. D
anielle is California Consulting's Senior Project M
anager and a San Joaquin Valley native with over 12 years of experience in grant writing, grant administration and program development for public and private entities.
She has worked with California Consulting since 2008, and during this time she has helped to secure over $18M in funding for California Consulting clients. She has drafted and submitted many successful grant applications for different sectors, but she most enjoys writing in the areas of public safety, motorized and non-motorized transportation, urban greening, alternative fuels infrastructure, and education. "
Ms. Sotelo prides herself in paying close attention to detail and has logged 100’s of hours in project management. She is committed to securing federal, state and local funding to spur environmentally and socially conscious community development both domestically and internationally.
Ms. Sotelo holds a BA in International Studies with an emphasis in Political Science and a certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University.

SAFER offers grants to support projects in two areas:
• Hiring of Firefighters Activity is to hire new, additional firefighters to improve staffing levels or changing the status of part-time or paid-on-call firefighters to full-time firefighters.
• Recruitment and Retention of Volunteer Firefighters Activity is to assist fire departments with the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters who are involved with or trained in the operations of firefighting and emergency response.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security FEMA: FY 2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program – COVID 19 Supplemental (AFG-S)

The population of the jurisdiction served by the recipient will determine the maximum amount of AFG-S funding a recipient is eligible to receive but no recipient may receive an award that exceeds one (1) percent of available grant funds in FY2020, or $1,000,000.

In general, eligible applicants shall agree to make available non-federal funds to carry out an AFG-S award in an amount equal to and not less than 15 percent of the grant awarded. Summary:
Supplemental funding under AFG. BJA's STOP School Violence Grant Program is designed to improve school security by providing students and teachers with the tools they need to recognize, respond quickly to, and help prevent acts of violence. The goal of this program is to address specific areas of concern related to preventing and reducing school violence. The program's objective is to increase school safety by implementing training and school threat assessments and/or intervention teams to identify school violence risks among students; technological solutions such as anonymous reporting technology that can be implemented as a mobile phone-based app, a hotline, or a website.
