The City Of Stockton Received $1,040,000 for the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality Grant
|
|
The San Joaquin Council of Governments awarded the City of Stockton, a CC Client, $1,040,000 for the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) Grant.
These monies will go toward a new installation of a 3-way traffic signal at Alpine & West and Alpine & California with an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant crosswalk and additional amenities.
The direct effect on the community with signal timing and a new installation will raise the average speed of the area from 26mph to 35mph. The installation will happen with minor geometric road modifications that will impact the traffic significantly by the coordination.

The City of Lancaster Receives $200,000 from the Habitat Conservation Fund
|
The City of Lancaster Receives $200,000 from the Habitat Conservation Fund CC congratulates the City of Lancaster (a CC client) for receiving the $200,000 from the Habitat Conservation Fund.
This most recent accomplishment is another example of the commitment of the city's leadership to protect and promote the well-being of its residents.
It’s also a reflection of the dedication and hard work of CC Project Manager, Ilya Malinsky, who ensured a successful grant application.

South Whittier School District Receives $72,486 for the CDE Lunch Equipment Assistance Grant
|
California Consulting client South Whittier School Districts was awarded $72,486 for the California Department of Education Lunch Equipment Assistance grant.
These monies will be used to update the kitchen and equipment at Carmela Elementary.
This is a wonderful example of South Whittier School District's leadership vision to provide quality educational environment for its students.
It's also a reflection of the hard work and dedication of CC Senior Statewide Project Manager, Dana Leusch, who successfully wrote the winning application.

|

California Consulting is excited to recognize the City of Albany. The City of Albany is dedicated to maintaining its small-town ambiance, responding to the needs of a diverse community, and providing a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment.
Albany prides itself on being a safe, community-oriented city, with strong services and programs for youth, families, and the elderly. It is a city made up largely of single-family homes and small businesses. Albany's small-town character is exemplified by its "Main Street," Solano Avenue, a pedestrian-friendly business district composed primarily of small shops, and home to some of the Bay area's best restaurants!
Albany's public schools have an outstanding reputation with student test scores at the elementary, middle, and high school levels among the highest in the state. Albany is beautifully located on the eastern shoreline of the San Francisco Bay, directly east of the Golden Gate Bridge.

California Consulting Director of State Programs Miriam De Loza met with the State Employment Training Panel in the month of August to discuss grant opportunities and learn about the many resources available to entities that seek funding. The feedback received helps our team of grant writers navigate through the various resources available to those seeking funding. Additionally, the regular meetings with state granting agencies ensure our grant writers and clients stay current with the latest funding sources.
Miriam is based in Sacramento and continues to meet with state agencies to discuss grant funding opportunities. These meetings will allow California Consulting to maintain a consistent presence with state granting agencies.

California Consulting continues to provide education to our grant writers to further their knowledge about upcoming grants. Most recently, CC held a training on the CalSHAPE Grant.
These meetings are taught by CC Senior Project Manager Ashley Ramsey who has in-depth and working knowledge and can provide hands-on experience in writing these highly competitive grants.
California Consulting's continuing education courses are designed to help our grant writers provide the best possible application for our clients and another reason CC outshines the competition.

California Consulting Welcomes Melissa Lisk as our new Project Manager.
Melissa M. Lisk has 10 years’ experience working in Higher Education. Lisk has obtained a vast array of writing experiences in creative, corporate, and academic writing.
Lisk has an in-depth knowledge base in research and education. In 2020, Melissa received her certification in Grant Writing from the University of South Carolina. She has an M.A., in English with an emphasis in Borderland Studies and Technical Writing.

CalRecycle: Rubberized Pavement Grant Program

Amount: $250,000 maximum for Individual Application. If applying for a joint application, the maximum grant award shall not be greater than $350,000. The Lead or a participating jurisdiction is limited to no more than $250,000 of the grant award.

An application may include rubberized pavement (hot-mix and chip seal) projects for roadways, Class 1 bikeways, greenways, and disability access at parks. A greenway is a travel corridor for pedestrians, bicycles, non-motorized vehicle transportation, recreation, or a combination thereof, located along with natural landscape features, such as an urban watercourse.

Director of Operations Dan Rodriguez
|
|
Dan Rodriguez is California Consulting. Inc.’s Director of Operations. Prior to California Consulting, Dan held various positions as government relations with municipalities and agencies specializing in business development and investor relations consulting, a former Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed) Business Development and Investment Relations Consultant, and as CEO for the Boys and Girls Clubs for Brea-Placentia-Yorba Linda for 7 years. He also served as volunteer Board Chair for Pomona Valley Boys & Girls Club.
A former elected official for the City of Pomona and appointed Vice-Mayor where he co-chaired the Mayor’s Violence Prevention Task Force resulting in the formation of the Pomona Youth Commission and the Pomona’s Youth and Family Master Plan. Prior to being appointed Vice-Mayor, Dan was employed with the Pomona Unified School District as a High School Police Officer and Child Welfare & Attendance Manager, and Superintendent Special Liaison for over 15 years.
Dan earned his Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership & Development, 2005, Biola University, La Mirada, CA, and is pursuing Biomass Broker License and Blockchain Certification.
