SWFL Team Wins

Tee It Up Cup

Match Play!

Congratulations to the SWFL Chapter Match Play Team Tee It Up Cup Champions!

Thanks to the 8 players that proudly represented our Chapter in a hard fought Match Play event at the Jensen Beach Golf Club on the East Coast on Saturday, July 20th.

This Invitational event, hosted by the Treasure Coast Chapter, comprised 6 Chapters from all around the State each fielding a team of 8 players, and the format matched two-player teams for competitive 18 hole matches on a challenging course.

The SWFL team was the overall winner accumulating the most points, with 3 of our teams winning by wide margins and one team being narrowly defeated. The total points were enough to clinch the win over the Daytona Chapter by just two points!

Thanks and congratulations to the 8 players who made the road trip; Kerstin Koenig, Jennie Taylor, Bonnie Blanchard, Peggy Emmart, Michelle Riordan, Peggy Wagner, Sara Ericksson and Patty Gift.

Special shoutout to Bonnie Blanchard who had a phenomenal Hole-In-One (her second ever) during Friday's practice round.

It was a lot of fun to meet, play against and socialize with so many other LPGA Amateurs members from different chapters in light hearted competition and camaraderie.

We will be defending our title at the 2025 Tee It Up Cup to be hosted by the Red Hills Chapter on the FL/GA border next summer.

Welcome New Members!

July Chapter Event Recap

It was another hot one in SW Florida, but we had a nice turn out for our July event at Heritage Bay Golf Club!

The format for the event was individual stroke play with a little twist. The added twist was a team game of 18 Questions. It was a great way to get to know your playing partners while scoring the lowest net scores for each of the questions. Congratulations to all the winners:

1st Place Gross – Shelia Mcgonigal

1st Place Net – Debbie Sheperd

2nd Place Net – Lisa Garrett

3rd Place Net – Peggy Wagner

Closest to the pin winners: Debbie Sheperd, Patty Gift (got two of them) and Margie Rotchford

And the team of Kerstin Koenig, Keri Hoffman, Eileen Huff and Carol Giddens won the 18 Questions game.

Thank you to everyone that endured the heat to come out and play. I hope everyone had a great time.

From your LPGA Amateurs SWFL Handicap Chair

Played 10+ Holes & Got Rained Out? Still Post that Score - Here's How!

In case you are unable to finish your 18 hole round, due to weather or light conditions, you can still post your score for handicap purposes, as long as you completed at least 10 holes. Your score has to be entered as a hole by hole score on your GHIN app.

For Example: You played 14 holes, scored a 70 so far, but are unable to finish due to a thunderstorm. You'll enter the current scores hole by hole.

Once you get to 15 you hit the post button since there a no more scores.

A message will pop up that says your round is not finished would you like to post.

You hit yes and your score will post and show the score as 70 (14). The app will calculate your handicap differential based on the holes played.

9 Holes or Less?

If you are able to finish 9 holes only, please post your score as 9 holes.

If you play less than 9 holes you won't be able to score, but probably get a rain check for a new round.

For more information and/or if you'd like to establish a handicap please contact Kerstin at kerstin@variety-travel.com

2024 SWFL Chapter

"Biggest Loser Handicap Challenge"

Unlike other biggest loser competitions - you don't have to stand on a scale in spandex in front of a national TV audience!

Our five-month long, stroke-shaving competition challenges LPGA Amateurs SWFL Chapter members to see who can improve the most.

This competition is flighted. Prizes will be awarded to the member with the best overall improvement and the most improved member in each flight.

Our chapter competition runs from 6/1/24 to 10/31/24. A minimum of 10 rounds need to be posted in order to participate.

All members who post their GHIN handicap through the LPGAAMSWFL will be automatically included.

If you'd rather not participate and/or like to participate but have your GHIN hosted by your club or other organization, please send an email to kerstin@variety-travel.com
