Eastcentral Area Health Education Center - About Us

The Eastcentral Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing access to primary healthcare and contributing toward the quality of health for people in our region, especially in rural and medically underserved areas. Administrative offices located in Lehighton, PA.

We are proud to be part of the 12th annual Human Services Priorities Breakfast this year. Breakfast and presentations will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023. Doors open at 8:30 AM and breakfast begins at 9:00 AM. Program will begin promptly at 9:30 am and end by noon.

The program will include businesses talking about important issues to Carbon County's present job availability and job seeking strategies.

We had our first co-hosted event with Lehigh Valley Health Network last week. The Participate-Simulate-Educate event was held at the Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Center for Healthcare Education, and this state-of-the-art facility creates top-notch educational opportunities for clinical and nonclinical colleagues.

This event was exceptionally informative for it's participants. The day included multiple sessions for educators to learn more about specific careers in healthcare and had several rotations in smaller rooms for simulating what a day in the life of certain healthcare careers would resemble. This event will be offered to two nominated students for each participant which will offer important insight into healthcare career pathways. Allowing for them to broaden their horizons as they plan for their future career in healthcare.

Thank you LVHN for the partnership, and we are looking forward to this event being held annually.

SEARCH Academy

SEARCH Academy is a program offered by the Pennsylvania AHEC for high school students interested in pursuing a career in health care. Its goal is to help students identify and pursue career paths in healthcare by connecting students with health care professionals once a month for virtual case study/panel discussion and hands-on activity.
