Thank you to all who attended!

Nebraska REALTORS® Association Board of Directors voted to expand their Past President’s Scholarship Fund beyond the existing fund at the University of Nebraska Foundation; which helps students in fields of study related to the real estate industry, to begin an endowment fund at Metro Community College. The donated funds will require 5 years to mature before a scholarship may be awarded; however, these monies will also go to help students who are interested in pursuing a career in the real estate industry.

Music Bingo was a huge hit at the Expo Reception on Tuesday night!

Connie Burleigh received the REALTOR® of the Year award.

There were 32 members who were awarded with the NE PRO Certification for 2023. These members donate a lot of their time volunteering for their REALTOR® Associations and as a result get their State dues refunded to them! Congratulations!

There were 25 members who were awarded with the First year Mark of Excellence Award. There were 8 members who have earned the Mark of Excellence for 5 years, and 7 members who earned it for 10 years! The Mark of Excellence's goal is to promote professionalism in the industry by recognizing members for their participation at the local, state, and national levels of the REALTOR® organization. Congratulations, everyone!

Congratulations to the 17 REALTORS® that graduated from the 2023 Nebraska REALTORS® Association Leadership Academy! They were all recognized for their achievements during the Appreciation Luncheon.

UNICAMERAL UPDATE: LB1363

An increase to the doc stamp fails on final reading

LB1363 – A $1.00 increase on the documentary stamp was not adopted by the Nebraska Legislature. This year, Nebraska REALTORS® took action and asked the Nebraska Legislature to protect the documentary stamp tax. The Nebraska REALTORS® Association believes the tax should support housing programs.

Last week, the Nebraska Legislature listened and passed over the bill on the final day of the 2024 legislative session. Thank you to everyone who took action and encouraged their senator to oppose LB1363. The Nebraska REALTORS® Association opposes taxes on real estate transfers because they inhibit the buying and selling of real estate and make housing less affordable.

Nebraska REALTORS® Association thanks all Senators who spoke against the bill including Senator Robert Dover, Senator Danielle Conrad, Senator Mike Jacobson, and others.
