News from Community Resource Center | October 28, 2019
Dear CRC Supporter,

Nearly 20 people per minute—1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men—are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and all month long, we've been out in the community to raise awareness, joining with the Domestic Violence Awareness Project to promote naming #1Thing that you can do to help end domestic violence. Some of the responses we've received include:

  • Listen and believe survivors.
  • Educate young people and spread love.
  • Hold other men accountable.
  • Use my voice to speak up for those who don't have a voice.
  • If I see something, I will say something.

I invite you to name your #1Thing this month and all year long.

If you'd like to learn more and help educate others, CRC's prevention educators are available to provide presentations to youth and adults about the issues surrounding domestic violence, how to see the warning signs of abusive relationships and how to connect with resources. For more information, contact Jani Sepanik, CRC Domestic Violence Education and Prevention Manager, at jsepanik@crcncc.org .

If you or someone you know is experiencing relationship violence, please call our 24/7 hotline at (877) 633-1112.

Kind Regards,
John Van Cleef
Executive Director
