Also... Check out this NEW program from the Town of Smithtown Recreation Department:

Camp SMILE is a new summer program being offered to Smithtown residents.

The camp will cater to children ages 6-17 who are enrolled in special education programs throughout Smithtown Township's School districts (Kings Park, Hauppauge, Commack & Smithtown).

Camp SMILE will run in 3, two-week sessions from 9-12 Monday thru Friday.


 They are also offering a 1 week session (7/1 thru 7/5; no camp on 7/4)


Each 2 week session will cost $165.

The one week session will cost $82.50


Sessions:

Session 1: July 1-July 12 (no camp 7/4) Session 1A: July 1-July 5 (no camp 7/4) Session 2: July 15-July 26

Session 3: July 29-August 9

Global Youth Service Day Food Drive with a Star Wars Twist

Last month on May 4th (Star Wars Day) the Smithtown Youth Advisory Board hosted a food drive to benefit Long Island Cares.


We collected and donated 579 pounds of nonperishable items that help to support the 234,000 individuals, including 65,000 children who struggle with food insecurity on Long Island.

A Message for Mental Health PSA created by Smithtown Youth Advisory Board

Last month was Mental Health Awareness Month. Our Youth Advisory Board created this PSA to remind our community that mental health matters every day. Let's continue the conversation, support one another, and break the stigma surrounding mental health.

Smithtown Library Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Library teen volunteer opportunities are open to those in grades 6-12 (up to age 18), unless otherwise noted.


The library also offers one-hour volunteer sessions by appointment! Teens can spend time at the Library working on a variety of projects to help make a difference in our community. Teens may schedule up to two time slots per month. For more information or to schedule a session, contact any Reference Desk.

Town of Smithtown Horizons Counseling & Education Center

Horizons Counseling and Education Center is an OASAS-licensed not-for-profit agency funded to provide adolescent & adult treatment, prevention and education services for drug and alcohol related problems.

Horizons offers individual & group therapy, medication assisted treatment, mental health care (related to substance abuse),DWI education & more. They also offer research-based prevention programming.

HS &MS "Buddies" are needed to help participants of the TOP soccer program. No soccer experience necessary!
