TMC Tucson 10k: Once again solidifying his claim to Local World Champion, Harry Mulenga defended last year's win, easily cruising to victory in a time of 32:49. Second place male in 34:31 was William Newberg from Gig Harbor, Washington. Zachary Stewart zipped across the line to snag third from Alaskan triathlete-turned-marathoner Corbyn Jahn, both in the same time of 35:31. First place in the men's Master's Division for the second year in a row was Lucas Tyler in 38:36.
Multiple Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier Autumn Ray took first place in the women's division, outrunning defending champion Nicole Pearce to win in 38:19. Satelite WOGGER Nicole finished in 38:22, while her training parter Jori Galles ran 38:45. While Autumn was first 40+ runner, Mihwa Kim is the first offical master's winner.
We at Run Tucson are committed to honoring the spirit of racing, and we're grateful to TMC for helping us provide prize money and to The Running Shop for providing close to $1,000 in age-group gift cards.
5k Results
Congratulations to Tyler Ripperger who ran 18:48 to take first place overall in the 5k. In the women's division, Aly Kozar sped to the line in 22:26 to claim the top spot -- not a bad performance for driving down from Phoenix at 3:00 in the morning . . .
All Age Group Awards: Please see the results at results.runsar.org -- if you received an age-group award, visit the Running Shop by mid-October to pick up your Gift Certificate.

A note on timing: Thanks to Greg Wenneborg at Roadrunner Race Timing -- Greg also posts videos of every finish, so follow the link to watch your finish video. You're welcome to screenshot the image as you wish!
The cash awards were based on so-called "gun-time," when the starter's pistol was fired and the race began. Age-group awards were based on so-called "chip-time," which is the elapsed time from when the athlete crosses the starting line to when they crossed the finish line. This method has become the norm in community races around the nation -- and even more so given wave starts caused by public health concerns. Special thanks to Greg Wenneborg from Roadrunner Race Timing.

As the second leg of the 2022 Gabe Zimmerman Triple Crown honoring the slain civil servant, Gabe Zimmerman, the event expects to raise over $12,000 for local organizations.
Supported by funding from Tucson Medical Center, Cox Communications, and participants, the events provide funding for the following organizations:
BEYOND Tucson Foundation: Following the tragic shooting on the morning of January 8, 2011 in Tucson, Arizona at Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ “Congress On Your Corner,” the Southern Arizona community spontaneously came together to honor, remember, and show solidarity for those that were killed, injured, or traumatized by the event. Along with its partners, BEYOND provides year-round opportunities for the public to participate in a series of healthy activities and to learn more about the scientific research that shows methods for optimal physical and mental health.
Step up For Justice: Step Up to Justice is an award winning, full-service, free civil legal center for low-income individuals and families in Pima County, powered by the talents of volunteer attorneys.
Cox Charities is the fundraising and grantmaking arm of Cox Communications raising funds for local charities.
Educational Enrichment Foundation actively provides enhanced and enriched learning resources for TUSD students, teachers, and schools, advocates for educational excellence for all children, and ensures access to educational enrichment opportunities within TUSD for financially in-need students.
Greater Tucson Leadership is a non-profit, non-partisan leadership organization dedicated to providing leadership education, community development and civic engagement for the overall care of and commitment to our Tucson community.
Southern Arizona Roadrunners is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and fitness in Tucson and Southern Arizona through running and walking.
