York Academy Families:

We’re celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week! I want our teachers and staff members to know how much I, along with our Board of Trustees, Administration, parents, and the community appreciate all the many wonderful things you do. From tying a shoelace or counseling a student about college, to getting breakfast for a student or giving extra time, you make an impact. Your efforts to help students learn, grow, and succeed are appreciated! Thanks for the difference you make for our students, their families, our school, and the future of the York Academy.

In addition, it’s National School Nurse Day, and I want to thank our knowledgeable, caring nurses. Ms. Halloran and Ms. Nyoni are crucial members of our team, and the countless ways they care for our students is tremendous.

I’d also like to thank everyone who helped us #UKnight to raise almost $26,000 during Give Local York! I’m amazed by your generosity and extremely proud of our Lower School students for raising $5,358 in the House and Kingdom Challenge. That’s $3,358 over their $2,000 goal!

The Houses that raised the most – Sanchar and Onesto - will get to have an exciting competition event soon. Please know that every dollar raised during Give Local York comes directly back to our students for innovative learning opportunities, impactful off-campus experiences, and scholarships.

Lastly, I want to congratulate our students and Mr. Michael on an outstanding job at last night’s Spring Concert. It was standing room only! Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate our talented musicians. Enjoy these amazing photos from York Academy parent, Paul McNally.

Enjoy the evening,

Dr. Lowe

Knight Staff Superstar: Jules Sebulsky

Congrats to PYP Coordinator, Jules Sebulsky, for being our Knight Staff Superstar! She was nominated for embodying the International Baccalaureate learner profile attribute of being caring.

According to her nominee, “While Mrs. Sebulsky portrays all of the learner profile attributes, she embodies the caring attribute the most. Mrs. Sebulsky is passionate about her work and she cares deeply for all our students and staff. She wants to see them succeed and is everyone’s personal cheerleader.

Mrs. Sebulsky never rests! She’s always looking for new ideas and finding tools and resources to help our teachers grow in their profession.  Mrs. Sebulsky also provides coaching opportunities to help them discover additional ways to make learning more exciting and engaging. She utilizes every moment of her day to work with students, meet with teachers, or find ways to make our Lower School curriculum and House System even better. She’s amazing at what she does, and the York Academy is blessed to have her!

Thanks for sharing your passion with others and caring so much about our school community, Mrs. Sebulsky. Know that your hard work makes an impact, and that you are truly valued!
