Our caboose, located at Imperial by Polly's Pies,

is pictured at Trader Joes, Yorba Linda.

Yorba Linda History Displayed

It was May 30, 2000, when an article about our caboose appeared in the "Los Angeles

Times". The City had received a gift of a decommissioned Union Pacific caboose that had served as the first Nixon Museum. The gift also included Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe mail carts that were manufactured in the 1880s. The carts had been used for many years at Los Angeles Union Station.

Sadly, the plans to utilize, or even care for, the caboose never came to pass. Since that time the caboose has been vandalized, rust can be seen, windows were broken and boarded up and collectibles and artifacts inside the caboose were stolen.

The future of our caboose is unknown.

Below is the "Los Angeles Times" article:

The old caboose on Imperial Highway is out of commission, but it won’t be carted off to the junkyard.

City officials are scouting for possible spots to relocate the caboose, stationed for years on the side of the road near Eureka Avenue. A row of century-old mail carts a block away will also be moved before the widening of that segment of Imperial Highway in July, said Parks and Recreation Director Steve Rudometkin.

He said the cars probably will have to be moved twice--once to make way for road construction, and again to be brought back to the Main Street area--because the caboose may be used in plans to spruce up Old Towne.

City staff members estimate the cost of moving the caboose twice at $15,000. Additional expenses would include $10,000 for landscaping and walkways in the area where the caboose would be placed, and another $5,000 to refurbish the 80-year-old caboose

Thanks to the 2024-2025 additions of a Charter School and an Universal Sports Institute , enrollment is on the rise. Both are expected to be extremely popular.

How to Remove Skunk Smells-Opinion

From a post on Facebook

________________________________

The best way we’ve found to remove the smell of skunk is:

1 bottle hydrogen peroxide,

1 tablespoon dish soap

1/4 cup baking soda

Sponge

Put first two in bowl, have the stinky one ready in sink and just before you sponge the mixture on add baking soda. Be VERY careful not to get it in nose or eyes. Massage through hair. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. Use your regular soap, rinse, dry. You literally can let them sleep on your bed after with no issues.

The videos below are listed in order from newest to oldest. Should you choose to watch them you will see that the content, presentation, and duration has grown with time. Along the way much was learned and new techniques employed. As new videos are created, it is my goal to continue this trend.

The availability of old photographs of our city is what makes these videos possible. I have pretty much "borrowed" everything currently on the internet, but will continue the search.
