September 6, 2024

Dear Neighbors,

It was back to school this week for our Yonkers Public Schools students! For the first time, we welcomed students at the new Justice Sonia Sotomayor Community School and the Robert Halmi, Sr. Academy of Film and Television. Wishing all of our students a successful academic year!

As we head into September, we will pause next week and reflect on the lives lost on September 11, 2001. Please consider joining us as we pray together and remember our neighbors who perished on that fateful day 23 years ago. We will also pay tribute to first responders who have died from a 9/11-related illness and our military servicemembers who died defending our country in the War on Terror.

Our first ceremony will be along the waterfront at the 9/11 memorial on Water Grant Street at 8:30 a.m. and our second ceremony will be at Conor Park at 7 p.m.

Please consider joining us. Until then, enjoy your weekend, Yonkers!

Be well,

MIKE SPANO

Mayor
