YES, THAT TOO IS FUNDED BY YOU

This month's e-newsletter is jam-packed with examples of the impact donors make to patient care.

I was delighted to take part in the recent announcement that The Moncton Hospital acquired advanced technology to treat fibroids. Take a few moments to read the details and view accompanying video.

There is more to come in 2024 with the opening of the new Obstetrics and Newborn Care Unit , launch of our Cancer Support Program, and many other donor funded projects that will be completed and ready to provide better care to patients and their families.

There are so many reasons to give.

BEST IN CLASS FIBROID CARE AT THE MONCTON HOSPITAL - BECAUSE OF YOU

Thanks to donors, we are revolutionizing fibroid care!

Recently The Moncton Hospital (TMH) acquired advanced technology to treat fibroids, resulting in new options when it comes to patient care. TMH is the first facility in Atlantic Canada and the sixth in Canada to offer this procedure, putting Moncton on the map as a best-in-class fibroid treatment centre for women.

Several patients have already benefited from the life-changing technology led by Dr. Stéphane Foulem and purchased by the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.

ER GETS NEW DONOR FUNDED CHAIRS

A massive shout out to Eastern Fence for their continued generosity.

The company donated $80,000 which enabled the Friends Foundation to purchase 50 modern chairs for the acute and non-acute patient rooms in the ER making stays a bit more bearable for patients and families.

Not only are these chairs MUCH more comfortable, functional and easily cleaned, they are also going to assist with the care of patients as well, as they are designed for a more ergonomic and safe transfer of patients from bed to chair.

VROOM VROOM!

Staff and patients at The Moncton Hospital (TMH) may see a new form of transportation in the hallways, thanks to a donation from Taylor Ford.

Two remote-controlled cars, mini Ford Mustangs were donated for kids to drive to the operating room when they’re going into surgery. This amazing donation helps make a scary experience a little easier for children at the TMH.

The first patient to use the car is 5 year old Charlotte. of paragraphs. Place article copy here

WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS TO SHARE!

You may have heard that Moncton Council passed first reading of a bylaw to rezone 166 MacBeath Avenue (a short distance from the hospital), a home owned by Sheila Bannon.

We hope to transform this space into a facility to help people live better with cancer.

The Friends will be working with more non-profit partners to deliver programs that focus on the person not the disease.

Check out the schematic below. We will keep you posted on this project every step of the way.

NEWS FROM HORIZON HEALTH

New health system data tool added to MyHealthNB website, mobile app

MyHealthNB has added a new tool to the health system data of its website and mobile app to provide more health information to New Brunswickers.

People can now view the estimated wait times for various non-urgent medical imaging tests. This reflects the time from when a patient is referred by a physician to when the test is completed. The dashboard will reflect the typical maximum wait times for each service, for most patients, over a 30-day time frame.
