A Message from the Principal

Dear Yasuhara Families,

Welcome to June! What a year it's been. This is our last monthly communication of 2023-2024. We've had such a great year. With just two weeks left, we still have a lot going on!

Today, we had 200 fifth graders from Logan, Holmes, Garfield, and Stevens visit Yasuhara to see their new school. It was so great to see the smiles and excitement in their eyes as they listened to our leadership students describe what their middle school lives could look like.

On June 12th we're excited to host our very first 8th grade promotion at 5:30 pm. We'll celebrate with cake and juice. If your student is an 8th grader, please plan to come celebrate with us.

8th grade AVID students have worked hard this year and they're wrapping up by visiting Central Washington University. This is going to be such a cool experience for these students. We're so happy to celebrate all of their hard work this year.

Even though we're so close to the end of the year, we still have 2 weeks to go. Please help us by getting your child to school on time! We're going to run through the finish line! It’s going to be a great end of the year, Phoenix!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Lundberg

Outdoors for All, a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through outdoor recreation, joined Yasuhara students and kids from across the district for a tandem bike riding experience on May 9th.

Students were able to enjoy the spring weather and get some physical activity in the parking lot and playground.

Reading Buddies

During the testing block schedule, Mrs. K’s drama class made 4 trips down to Logan Elementary to do some dramatic reading to their Kindergarten and 1st grade classes. We had so much fun reading our books and spending time with our Logan friends. We loved asking questions, teaching vocabulary, and sharing reading with our future YAS students!

Lost & Found Cell Phones

The main office has several mobile phones in the lost and found. If your student has lost their phone this school year, please ask them to check the office to see if anyone has turned it in.
