Twenty six years ago I walked into the basement office of Jewish Family Services and knew...
I was in the right place. From that day on, without doubt, Jewish Family Services was the place to be! But JFS was only the conduit. Meeting you and working together towards a shared vision...that was the gift.
Thank you all for walking the path with me. Thank you for your generosity and dedication to creating a better world.
It is now a pleasure I introduce you all to JFS's fifth CEO, Basha Silverman, MSS. Many of you already know Basha through her work at Brandywine Counseling, some through her childhood and youth, growing up in Wilmington and attending the University of Delaware, and some through her work with Jewish Family and Children's Services in Philadelphia. But whatever the connection, JFS and our community are honored that Basha will be leading JFS as we continue serving the most vulnerable populations throughout the State of Delaware.
I will always be grateful for your generosity of spirit, wisdom and commitment to the integrity and high level of professionalism for which our agency is known. Together we have built bridges that have truly led to the betterment of our communities, families and individuals.
In Judaism, we always reflect upon our obligation and commitment to repair the world,
Tikkun Olam, recognizing our internal strength with G-d's guidance.
