Wow - what a sight!

If you were in the path of totality like those of us here in northern Vermont, last week's eclipse was truly a thing of beauty. It was more than just a visual experience - the temps dropped significantly for several minutes, the forests and trees were quiet, and the world seemed to stop and pay attention. How cool was your experience?

Was it cool enough to memorialize with your own project? We have a few different eclipse-related patterns here at the shop, and we've seen lots of quilters on social media coming up with completely original works! How far are you prepared to stretch your creative muscles?

We have a class going on this coming Sunday, April 21, so Yankee Pride will actually be open for business from 10-5! If you've found it tough to get here, or just want to spend some quiet time among the bolts, drop in and see us.

Happy Sewing!

Yankee Pride Hours

Due to an increase in customer traffic on Friday afternoons, we will be open from 10-6 on Fridays, beginning May 3.

Also, the shop will be open from 10-5 this Sunday, April 21. This is a one-time occurrence due to a scheduling issue, but how great for you?? We're also having a fat quarter sale! Precut fat quarters will be discounted for that day only. We hope to see you then!

*Custom-cut fat quarters are NOT included in this sale.

Upcoming Classes

Just a few classes coming up in the next few weeks. The Collage class was so popular that Anne's teaching it again! Let us know if there's something you want to learn, whether it's a quilt or a sewing technique.

Flirtation and Spotted

from Zen Chic

by Moda

That lime green really pops, doesn't it? We love how it accents all of the prints in this group. The focus fabric (bottom in photo) brings additional colors into the mix - you can really have tons of fun making something new and different!

To The Moon

by dear Stella

Do you know a little girl who wants to go to space? This sweet line is perfect for making her a bag, a pillowcase, a backpack or a quilt to boost her interest. The focus print (top in photo) has several girls floating in space among stars and planets. The multicolored coordinates will bring color and shape to your project. Add a few tone-on-tones of your own, and you've got a wonderful gift for your own little astronaut.

Flower Girl

from Heather Briggs for My Sew Quilty Life

by Moda

Sweet, sweet spring...that's what each of these pretty prints represents. Soft flowers, and lovely color send us rushing to our patterns, in search of the perfect project. Any of the fabrics in this group will work for clothing as well as quilted items. Bring spring home with you, and add it to your living space year-round.

The Great Outdoors - Panel

from Stacy Iest Hsu

by Moda

This fun panel makes a bear backpack! Create a unique accessory for your little one with just this panel, some Fusible Fleece, and a zipper. The instructions are printed right on the panel. Once complete, the bear has a zipper for a mouth, and some stuffed fish to feed him. Lots of fun for a toddler or small child.

News, Notions, and other Fun Stuff

Do you find yourself with a larger stash than you planned on? Are you looking for a great project to use said stash? Stash-Busting Weekend Quilts, from Annie's, is the perfect way to dig into that stash and make something both functional and beautiful. Most of the quilts are lap/throw size, and they're all gorgeous! Pick up a copy, pull out your fabric, and get started - we can't wait to see what you make!

This ruler is pretty big, but super-versatile! the Creative Grids Big Easy ruler is 12 1/2" x 24 1/2" - a monster for your sewing space. But it's great in so many ways! Square up large blocks, use it to mark crosshatching for quilting, trim quilt edges, cut borders, and use in home dec sewing, too! It's got easy-to-read measurements, in both black and white. If you do a ton of big sewing, you'll definitely find a use for it almost every day.

This Robin Pickens pattern looks so fresh and fun! Tightrope is both jelly roll and layer cake friendly, so if you've got some of those precuts just sitting on your shelf, they're perfect for this project. Although it doesn't look it, the piecing is pretty simple, and you only need to add two fabrics to the precut pack you use. The instructions include two sizes - a lap and a throw - both are very usable and make great gifts, too!

Thank you for being our customer, for supporting us, and thank you for continuing to believe in shopping local.
