Hi Hillel,
With only two weeks left until Thanksgiving,
we have a lot of great events coming up before the break! At bagel
brunch on Sunday, we will have a special visitor from the Jewish
Historical Society of Greater New Haven giving a special talk. Stay
tuned next week for information about Jews Around the World week,
which will start with a special Shabbat dinner next Friday!

Tonight's performance will feature Micheline Soley SC '13
singing classical music and jazz and playing classical guitar. On
November 11, Steven Fiefke will play jazz piano.. The performances
are held in Susman Hall, and always accompanied by desserts.

Peace

Come mark the 15th anniversary of Yitzchak
Rabin's assassination with a vigil for peace, which will involve a
very brief service and candle-lighting. November 4th has become a
central day for peace activists in Israel over the years, so please
join us in making a strong statement about our support for a

in learning more about the prayer services of the Jews and Muslims
on campus? At 12:45 p.m. join the Muslim community for jummah
prayer at Dwight Hall Chapel, with lunch afterwards in the Dwight
Hall Common Room. And at 5:45 p.m., sit in on the Shabbat services
at the Slifka Center, at 80 Wall Street. Everyone is invited
directly afterward to eat Shabbat dinner at Slifka at 7
p.m.

Director of the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem! On Friday night

of "From the Titanic to Chile-In a crisis,
who's saved first?" in the Slifka Chapel. On
Saturday following lunch, the topic will be "How Green is My

Mark Helprin is the author of the novels Winter's Tale, A
Soldier of the Great War, Freddy and Fredericka, and Swan Lake, as
well as the story collections The Pacific and The Dove of the East.
He has won both the National Jewish Book Award and the Prix de
Rome. His most recent book is Digital Barbarism: A Writer's
Manifesto, a controversial defense of authors' rights in the
digital age.

60-minute workshop on techniques for political advocacy and
service-related organizing within congregations and
religious communities. The training will cover techniques for
persuading religious leaders, identifying and activating non-clergy
leaders within congregations, building inter- and
intra-denominational coalitions, and understanding the structure of
