President’s Message

Dear Fellow Members:

I hope everyone is having a good summer. Here are a few bits of information for this month.

It is with immense pleasure that we announce your Board has appointed our former General Manager Virginia Griffith to the Board of Directors to fill out the term of Fred Prutzman, who resigned from his position in June. Viriginia will be a valuable addition to your Club.

If you have not seen it, the new YR Club website is up and running with all new graphics and member photos. The member portal will soon be active, and you will receive an invitation from Steve to enter your email and password. Once you activate your account, you will be able to look at your minimum balance, past purchases and be able to pay your annual dues.

On nights when the Club has entertainment that will draw a larger than usual crowd our chef makes available a limited menu. He does this for a reason. The kitchen does not have the space or cooking capacity to make available our full menu on those designated evenings.

The Club has identified spaces for our members with disabilities. We have received complaints from some members that those spots are often occupied by cars with no handicap plate or placket. Please ensure that the handicap spots are open for those members with proper visible identification.

Have you tried our new bar menu? It is available from 4:00-6:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday. The offers include chicken fingers, pizza, prime rib sliders, and warm pretzels with dip.

Here’s a couple of dates to mark on your calendar. Member Appreciation Night will be on Saturday, September 7^th. Last year’s event was sold out, so be sure to make your reservations by calling the Club. That evening you will also be able to meet the candidates who will run for openings on our Board of Directors. The Club’s annual meeting will be on Monday, September 15^th.

ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE

The Club’s Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, September 16^th beginning at 7 pm with doors opening at 5:30, and will include the election of three persons to the Board of Directors. The meeting agenda will include a review of the events of the past year given by President Nick Kuruc, a financial status report from Treasurer Brad White, an update on the Club’s membership from Membership Chair Jay Mahoney, a review of the renovation projects completed during the past year by Brad White, and comments on the Club’s performance by Club F&B consultant, George Zeppos. A segment towards the end of the meeting will be set aside for questions and comments relative to the operations of the Club. Copies of the minutes of the 2023 Annual Meeting and a 2023/2024 financial synopsis will be distributed before the start of the meeting.

In person voting for the open Board positions will begin at 6:00 pm and end promptly at 6:30 pm. (Absentee ballots (available at the office), must be filled out in person and will be accepted until the start of regular balloting). **

** Any voting member interested in running for a director’s position should submit his or her intention in writing to the Nominating Committee, % Club Manager Steve Sites. The letter should include a short bio (not to exceed 75 words) and a headshot photo. The bio and photo will be used in the September newsletter, a couple of Constant Contact membership communications and on a foyer poster, all to better acquaint the membership with the candidates. The deadline for receiving the letter and informational bio must be received at the Club office by Wednesday, August 21st at 9 pm.

As has become custom, a complimentary buffet of hot dogs, pizza, baked beans, potato chips, etc. along with domestic draft beer and soft drinks from the bar will be available at the conclusion of the meeting.

WE ARE SOOOO EXCITED TO INTRODUCE DOWNSHIFT TO THE YR CLUB!!! LED BY OUR OWN MEMBER, ERICH MOGEL, THIS ROCKING COVER BAND IS SURE TO BRING THE CROWD AROUND. WE HOPE YOU'LL JOIN US FOR THIS SPECIAL EVENT!! MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW, BUT FOR NOW, MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS AND GET IT ON YOUR CALENDER!!!

**In order to offset rising production and media costs, the Club finds it necessary to

institute a nominal charge for advertising beginning with the June issue. We thank those

of you who have supported the site at no charge in the past and hope that you will

consider continuing to back our publication as we move forward to make it bigger, better

and more informative than ever. The price of $30 for a ¼ page advertisement will also

include being available for viewing on our new updated website.
