Partner Shout-Out: Robb Breding

Robb Breding found his way to Amplify at the invitation of Reid Evenson back in 2016. He shared, "I visited a session and was hooked. I had the interest, experience, and enthusiasm to give back to growing leaders whose passion is to have an impact in their communities."

Robb initially limited his involvement to attending the meetings and participating in table discussions, but soon "found myself interested in the missions of many of the organizations that were being presented."

Robb decided to lean in and has been serving consistently over the past seven years as a facilitator, a coach for ministries in the AMP Journey, and an individual consultant for ministry leaders including Dale Gentry (Disciple Science), Shawn Morrison (Good in the Hood), and Rachel Glocke & Patricia Batista (Hope Renewed).

"It did not take long for me to catch the vision of what Amplify is trying to accomplish. Having owned a small business, I know how difficult those early years are. I know many mistakes could have been avoided and growth could have been accelerated had I had the benefit of working with a consultant, a peer group, or at least someone that had walked the path before me. I feel very blessed to serve alongside so many wonderful people and to engage with important ministries that Amplify highlights."

Robb, thank you for so freely sharing your expertise to strengthen both Amplify and the ministries we serve.

Learning Academy Wraps up its 7th Year!

Once a month for the past seven years, nonprofit leaders have gathered to work on mission and leadership as part of Amplify's Learning Academy.

Since the Learning Academy launched in 2017, 206 nonprofit leaders have taken part in one of the tracks offered. For many leaders, the Learning Academy fills a niche by offering exceptional leadership training in a faith-filled environment, led by industry experts who desire to see nonprofits thrive.

The most recent cohort of 19 Executive Directors and 9 Mid-Level Leaders wrapped their nine months of leadership training on May 21st with a session on digital marketing taught by Gino Giovanelli, Marketing Instructor at the University of St. Thomas.

Participants reflected on their journey this year and shared the following:

"The Learning Academy gave me tools in my toolbox to turn my vision into action and my dreams into goals."

"Amplify helped me not give up on having a nonprofit."

"The Learning Academy has been such a blessing in so many ways. Both from a professional and personal point of view. I can't express to you enough how helpful these classes have been."

"You don't know what you don't know. Amplify helped me understand where there were gaps in my knowledge and gave me a starting place to build from."

Alisha Soule, Curriculum Developer and Facilitator for the Learning Academy shared, "It is powerful to watch participating nonprofits learn, grow, and connect. They gain knowledge, from expert professionals, on the foundational building blocks of operating a nonprofit. They build relationships and community with other leaders. And, they tackle issues and challenges they are facing. It is a joy to work alongside these incredible individuals and nonprofits year after year."

The Learning Academy will kick off a new session this fall, offering both the Emerging Nonprofit Leader track and the Mid Management track. Pass along the details to nonprofit leaders in your network!

Ministry Milestones

Take a look at these exciting milestones for a few of our past presenting ministries!

Flourish Placemaking

Hosts Community Conference

Flourish Placemaking Collective (formerly Ace in the City) who presented to Amplify in January of 2022, continues to grow and expand. They recently held a new event called R3, gathering 50 local leaders from the community to help spark a movement of creating community spaces that ensure the flourishing of us all.

Waters of Rest

Launches Make a Way Campaign

With the help of Amplify partner, Karen Rose, Waters of Rest has launched a new fundraising campaign called "Make a Way" to continue progress on building sustainability, the challenge Cathleen Gosselin presented to Amplify in November of 2023.

Cathleen is also gearing up for four guided summer trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. If you or someone you know is interested in participating in one of these trips, there are still a few open spots!

"The level of support from Amplify has been overwhelming. First, the process of coaching through Amplify was extraordinarily valuable and was a catalyst in at least $150,000 of donations being raised during that timeframe. The evening itself was such a spirit-filled event with Christ at the center. Then the AMP Session surfaced several key strategic gaps and provided a whole bunch of people who offered to help and make introductions to others. Our journey is just beginning and every week, God continues to affirm that our mission is 'spot-on.' God bless!"

Bravo Zulu House

Building Awareness

Tim Murray, founder of Bravo Zulu House, recently sent a message of thanks along with an update after presenting at Amplify last month. His strategic ask was centered around building awareness that will lead to donations. He has been able to quickly implement some plans and ideas that emerged.

  • Cathy Von Eschen has joined the team as the Marketing Director for Bravo Zulu. She will be developing and leading a multi-phase marketing plan over the next 12 months.
  • A double-sided billboard recently went up to bring awareness to the Bravo Zulu name.
  • Numerous Amplify partners have offered support to help consult and improve the Bravo Zulu website donor experience.
  • Donations and sponsorship continue to come in as the story is shared! Most recently, Mankato Motors and Devenish Nutrition provided significant gifts.

Don't Miss Bob Goff in September!

Bob Goff is coming to Amplify for our 6th Annual Fundraising event on Friday, September 6th.

Bob spent decades as an attorney, trying to figure out how to live a whimsical, impactful life. These days, he calls himself a "recovering lawyer" because after practicing law for 25 years, then becoming the Honorary Consul to Uganda, he gave up his law firm to pursue writing and speaking full time.

Bob is the author of New York Times bestselling books, Love Does, Everybody Always, Dream Big, and Undistracted. He's also the founder of Love Does - a nonprofit human rights organization, host of a popular weekly podcast, and recently a farmer at The Oaks just outside San Diego, California.

Goff's message resonates with audiences worldwide, inspiring them to challenge conventional norms, embrace authenticity, and lead with love and compassion.
