Trees Are Great, So Save
the Date!
FREE Tree Giveaway
Black Hills Energy
Black Hills Energy is celebrating National Safe Digging Day, or 811 Day, on Sunday, August 11 – by giving away free trees to customers through our Energy Saving Trees project partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation.
Trees clean our air and water, improve our physical and mental health, and beautify our communities. One large tree can also provide a day’s supply of oxygen for as many as four people. In addition, a well-placed tree can block hot summer sun and provide shelter from cold winter winds, reducing energy costs by as much as 20 percent for a homeowner.
Last year, Black Hills Energy customers planted 665 trees, which will grow to filter over 74 million gallons of storm water and avoid almost 25 million pounds of carbon! Since the program began in 2014, over 10,000 trees have been planted through the partnership.
When it’s time to plant, be sure to call before you dig to have underground utility lines marked. The “Call Before You Dig” program is free, it’s safe and it’s the law. Just dial 811 or schedule online through call811.com.
Customers must register for a free tree. Supplies are limited and reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Trees will be shipped directly to registered customers. Details can be found at www.blackhillsenergy.com/trees.

What Are SIPs?
A SIP is an energy efficient structural wall system that is manufactured with a core of Styrofoam laminated to oriented strand board (OSB) or plywood.
Panels are available for walls, roof and floor systems.
Special below grade panels are also available for super insulated lower levels in the ground.
Perhaps the most compelling reason to choose SIPs over conventional framing is the vastly increased energy efficiency of SIP homes.
