Introducing our newest SLaS Associate Teacher Tyree Jones!

Introducing our newest SLaS Associate Teacher:  Tyree Jones
Tyree Jones has sung leading roles in many Musical Theatre productions including Guys and Dolls, Mary Poppins, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Godspell, The Wiz, Ain't Misbehavin', and Annie. He won the Henry Mancini Award for his role of the Lion in The Wiz. His vocal training includes Jazz, R & B, Classical, and Musical Theatre. He has been the music director at Power of Faith and Tabernacle of Praise Churches since 2012, working with singers of all ages.

Born in Pennsylvania, Tyree has been singing and performing since childhood. He applauds those who want to master their vocal and piano skills.
Tyree was chosen as one of very few to get the opportunity to study at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School where he studied privately as a voice major. There he studied intensively in the vocal styles of opera, jazz, R&B, blues, gospel, musical theatre, and many other styles. It was here that he learned he had not just a great love for music but also for singing correctly. The voice is such a powerful yet fragile instrument and he was so grateful to get the chance to learn proper singing techniques that would afford him the opportunity to use his gift for many years to come.

After graduating from the LPPACS he went on to move to GA where his love for singing was warmly embraced. Living in GA for the last four years he has had many opportunities to explore the world of music. He began his career in GA as a minister of music for The Tabernacle of Praise Church Int'l where he was used in many areas in vocal and piano music. He has been used in many other ministries in GA. He has also had the opportunities to perform with many regional companies and recently was nominated for a Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Award.

Tyree cannot begin to express his excitement at having the opportunity to teach at Sing Like a Star Studios. You, the student, are beginning and will continue a great journey- learning the world famous Sing Like a Star method.  Tyree teaches voice, piano, and songwriting at SLaS.

Tyree is starring in the musical Violet, along with Tricia's student Dorey Casey.  Dorey's having a great season--In addition to Violet, she has a lead in her high school 1-act play and they won the Georgia Theatre Conference. After the holidays, she'll appear at GACS in The Addams Family as Wednesday (dream role!).  For tickets to Violet please visit:
