In this new year, one of our answers to the concerns raised in 2020 is to bring to light the needs and the strengths of youth in the community. We must amplify and support our Black, Indigenous and People of Color in community. We must inspire and invest in our youth. It is time for us to use our voices to elevate youth development programs and the work you do that supports children, youth, and families.

The WA State Legislative Committee that addresses issues with children and families now highlights youth and youth development!

In December, Geeking Out Kids of Color became a recipient for funding from Boeing's $10 million in Giving Tuesday investments. As the GOKiC team stated on their Facebook page, this will support the work they do to reach youth in innovative ways to teach them about how technology can improve their communities. We're grateful for all the work they're doing to give young people the opportunity and support they need to learn, lead, connect, contribute, and thrive!
Geeking Out Kids of Color, led by Executive Director Pedro Ciriano Perez, YDEKC's Advisory Board co-chair, works to liberate youth of color through technology and mentorship, by developing decolonized tech education programs to nurture community leaders of change.
