As the eagerly anticipated Community Makeover Day approaches, Xavier Jesuit Academy (XJA) is buzzing with excitement. This month, XJA President Fr. Nathan Wendt, S.J., and Principal Kyle Chandler shared their insights and enthusiasm in an interview with Channel 12 News.
In the interview, Fr. Wendt and Principal Chandler discussed the transformative impact the Community Makeover is expected to have on both the school and the surrounding community. They emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering community spirit, enhancing educational environments, and providing students with opportunities for growth and engagement.
Fr. Wendt highlighted the collaborative efforts between XJA, the Reds Community Fund, P&G, Cincinnati Zoo, GE Aerospace, Kroger, and other partners. "The Community Makeover Day is bringing resources to our school that otherwise we wouldn't have," he remarked.
Principal Chandler expressed his excitement about the improvements and the direct benefits to the students. "So, I think for Charley Frank and the Reds to kind of come and knocking at the door, it's just prayer answered ," Mr. Chandler said. "They pushed us to kind of dream outside of our own budget and the limitations of our budgets, too."
The Community Makeover Day is set to bring a wave of positive changes to XJA, aligning with the school's mission of providing holistic education rooted in Jesuit values. For more details and to watch the full interview, click on the video above.
