"This is our first winter stay and for the first time, we brought our "girls" with us. Even though we have had an excellent caretaker at home, there was no way we were going to leave Lily, 12-years-old and blind, and Roxy, 9-years-old, for the winter. Little did I know that when my husband and I set out with our girls on a routine hike up a local trail, it would become a life or death situation for Lily. Lily has been blind for over a year, but I always let her go off leash on this trail because she follows closely at my heels."

Melodie Edwards has been working with the UW Lab School middle schoolers in an effort to teach them the world of radio. They youth have conducted interviews, used Adobe Audition to edit audio, written the story, taken photos, and are even creating graphs for a web version.

Ben Slater recorded Paul Cauthen for the upcoming Studio Sessions video and
first live performance on Wyoming Sounds. Ben and WPM Chief Engineer
Reid Fletcher completed the transition of audio stream servers to use more secure encrypted HTTPS protocol and completed the installation of audio backup equipment for KUWE, Evanston.
Reid also helped to familiarize Ben with a new OS in support of his task setting up the new webstream server and created the scripts need for automatically aggregating the webstream usage reporting.

We are in the process of installing backup systems that use an internet connection to deliver our audio if we lose our satellite feed. Some sites failover automatically, while others require us to switch them remotely. Only about half of the sites have this capability. We hope to install more of these failover systems at the remaining sites over the summer. In the meantime, if you notice that a site is down feel free to let us know
