We welcome you to the last half of April, 2023! It is a beautiful time of year in Hollywood and we are excited to pray with you again this week for the people, the projects and the issues that impact the global entertainment industry! From films to strikes to mergers, shut downs and marriages, there is always something to pray for! So, let's get started, and know that we love you and thank God for YOU every month!

Christian Film Making Fund
We thank God for Christians who are stepping out and supporting, producing and creating films to reach the world through stories. HPN member and friend Paul Long who runs a post production house in LA, saw how hard it was for Christian independent filmmakers to raise all the money they need to complete their films, so he started a Christian Film Finishing Fund that allowed writer/director/editor David Helling to finish his low budget film His Only Son. And that film just came in 3rd at the box office across the country. So, let’s praise God for these and other Christians who are making an eternal difference in our world through storytelling and film funding.

Karen and Jim in Nashville THIS WEEK-END!
HPN Nashville is relaunching their 20 year old chapter with new leadership. On Sunday, April 23rd our Nashville Local Chapter Directors are having a beautiful afternoon Open House, and Karen and Jim Covell will be there to celebrate their growing community of Christian industry professionals. LAFSC Interns: Bella, Hannah and Alec
We want to thank our three wonderful Interns from the LA Film Studies Center who spent the semester with our HPN team. Bella created a music video celebrating Hollywood for the Chris Tomlin song "The God of This City." Hannah created a video of an incredible young girl telling her version of her favorite movie, Cinderella, with her own original animation. And Alec created posts, stories and reels for our HPN Social Media. They all made HPN a better place. Thanks Bella, Hannah and Alec, we love you!

Possible WGA Strike
Please keep praying for the WGA writers and the Producers. The writers just voted yesterday to definitely strike if their contract terms are not met by May 1st. If a strike becomes a reality it will have a devastating impact on our industry and the professionals and families from TV shows and films across the country. Would you pray for the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and WGA negotiators to come to a mutually beneficial decision in their negotiations by May 1st?

Artists Equity Changing Hollywood!
We want to pray for Matt Damon and his best friend Ben Affleck, who have started a production company together that gives profit participation to both the cast AND the crew. That’s unheard of in Hollywood and is an example of true equity. In fact, their company is called Artists Equity! And - the company has already been creating notable partnerships with Jennifer Lopez, and soon - Amazon Studios!

Love is Blind
Please pray for the contestants on the dating reality game show Love Is Blind. Like many reality shows, they are not all that they appear to be. Recently, accusations of contestant mis-treatment, and other traumatic allegations have been made against the producers. So, be wise as you watch these shows and please pray for the people involved!

Netflix Cracks Down!
Pray for Netflix decision-makers and viewers as Netflix adds a new subscription tier which includes advertisements and a new password crackdown so that subscribers can't share their Netflix password with family and friends. Their purpose is to reignite growth after a decline in quarterly profits. May the Lord direct the steps of everyone involved in the world's most powerful streaming platform.
