“As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. ‘Teacher,’ his disciples asked him, ‘Why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or those of his parents?’ ” - John 9:1-2

“’It was not because of his sins or his parent’s sins,’ Jesus answered.

‘He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him.’ ” - John 9:3

“Then Jesus spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and smoothed the mud over the blind man’s eyes. He told him, ‘Go and wash in the pool of Siloam’. So, the man went and washed, and came back seeing!” - John 9:6-7

“Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives, but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the teachers of the religious law and Pharisees brought a woman they had caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.” - John 8:1-3

“’Teacher,’ they said to Jesus, ‘This woman was caught in the very act of adultery. The Law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?’ They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him ...' ” - John 8:4-6

“They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, ‘All right, stone her. But let those who have never sinned throw the first stones.’ ”- John 8:7

“Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.”- John 8:8

“When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.” - John 8:9

“Then Jesus stood up again and said to her, ‘Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?’ ’No, Lord,’ she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. God and sin no more.’ ”- John 8:10-11

“As Jesus entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, crying out, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’” - Luke 17:11-13

“One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, ‘Praise God, I’m healed!’ He fell face down on the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done … Jesus asked, ‘Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?’ ”- Luke 17:15-17

*Congregational Hymn
