Sermon Outline: To view a printable sermon outline, click here.

“Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown. The next Sabbath, he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished. They asked, ‘Where did he get all his wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?’” - Mark 6:1-2

“’He’s just the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.’ They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him …” - Mark 6:3

“And Jesus was amazed at their unbelief.” - Mark 6:6

“When Jesus arrived at Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, ‘Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and racked with pain.’” - Matthew 8:5-6

“Jesus said, ‘I will come and heal him.’ Then the officer said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed! I know, because I am under authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, Go, and they go, or come, and they will come. And if I say to my servants, do this or that, they do it.’” - Matthew 8:7-9

“When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to the crowd, he said, ‘I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all the land of Israel!’” - Matthew 8:10

Children: Children of all ages are always welcome to attend worship service with their family. Settle also provides a nursery for ages 0-3 starting at the 9 a.m. Sunday School hour and running through the conclusion of both worship services. For children preschool-Grade 5, Settle offers Sunday School at 9 a.m. in the Education Building, and for preschool-Grade 2, we also offer children's church, where children sit with their parents at the beginning of worship and exit worship as a group after our children's message. Drop off/pickup for all children's activities are in the Education Building.

Faith Promise Celebration Begins This Sunday, April 14

Faith Promise is a season in our church when we raise funds to support our mission partners throughout the year. Faith Promise is a faith commitment between you and God that He will provide extra funds to you to support these missions. This pledge/commitment is over and above your regular tithe/giving. It can be an addition to your monthly giving or a lump sum gift that God has blessed you with.

A story from years past from a church member: "I spent some time talking this over with God, and my husband and I thought, 'How will we be able to give more because our funds were tight.' About six months later, my husband received an unexpected bonus from work, and then we knew God had answered our prayers to provide the extra.

Over the next few weeks you will have the opportunity to hear from three of our mission partners to see first hand how Settle's giving has furthered God's work in their missions. Thank you!
