I was sitting in kinesiology class in January of 2011 when I noticed one of my classmates starting to nod off. I was initially amused but soon realized she was really in trouble. I got up just in time to help ease her to the floor as she collapsed and passed out. She recovered quickly, but this was to be a pivotal moment in her life.
We were both massage therapy students eager to graduate and get our licenses toward a new career. After her episode, Becki was forced to drop out for the quarter. Things looked very dim for her. She was told she would never be able to be a massage therapist and should change her career plans.

Ricky Williams, former Miami Dolphins running back, and contestant on this season of NBC's
The New Celebrity Apprentice competed to raise funds and awareness for the Foundation's Concussion program. Ricky was his team's Project leader on Monday night (Jan 16th) and worked vigorously to advocate and raise money for the treatment of post concussion syndrome.
While in Florida, Ricky conducted a round of media interviews on behalf of Upledger CranioSacral Therapy treatment for post concussion syndrome.
Listen to his interview broadcast on ESPN 106.3FM or
watch his interview with the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach.

Expected from a student transitioning from CS2 to SER1:
- Continue practicing 10-Step protocols
- Give 20-25 full mouth work protocols (reviewed briefly in SER1 but the expectation is that you are very familiar with all the techniques). Receive 6-8 full mouth work protocol sessions from someone skilled at the techniques (receiving is a great way to learn)
- Practice arcing for energy cysts with your clients. Arc at the beginning of every session! Learn to describe how you found the active lesion from a physical perspective, and use this evaluation tool for every patient you treat.

Enjoy the Benefits...
Study Groups create wonderful opportunities to practice the skills you have already learned and further your understanding of your chosen modality by
sharing experiences and asking questions of other like-minded practitioners.
Study Groups include hands-on practice, techniques review and time available to have your questions answered. Study Groups are led by Instructors, Teaching Assistants, or Certified Therapists.
Practice Groups are more informal, and allow for students to practice in order to prepare for further study.

UI-UK Rhythm and Resonance Conference -
September 2015
The UIUK conference
was excellent, with rave reviews from the attendees. John Matthew Upledger, Eric Moya, and Susie Steiner were among the presenters at the conference and received standing ovations.
Thomas Rasmussen from Denmark also presented at the conference. He shared an update on the research he presented at Beyond The Dura 2015, and he reported he is close to being able to publish. Along with a team, he has developed a machine and software that measures the craniosacral rhythm, and shows the before and after changes from CST treatment. Dr. Upledger did his research in the 70's with his team, and from that developed CST (and coined the name CranioSacral Therapy). And now 30 years later with new technology, Thomas continues with more research in support CST.

Office Phone: 453.025.5544
UI Finland - Katja Puolakka, MT, CST
