Dear Parents,
In ten days, parents, staff and friends from Woodland Hill Montessori School will gather together for the school's annual Benefit. It will be held on Friday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Franklin Plaza ballroom in downtown Troy.
Tickets are $65 each and include a full open bar, passed Hors d'oeuvres (Sesame Chicken, Spanikopita, Scallops Wrapped in Bacon, and Shrimp); Buffet Stations (Tenderloin of Beef, Chicken Dijon, Seafood Newburg, Rice Pilaf, Sugar Snapped Peas, Tortellini Alfredo, Mixed Greens, and vegetables with Balsamic Vinaigrette), Coffee, Tea, Dessert Shooters and Gourmet Pastries.
Tickets can be purchased online , or by printing a reply card and mailing it to 15th Annual Spring Benefit, Woodland Hill Montessori School, 100 Montessori Place, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
The Benefit is the most important (fun)draising event of the year for our school - not only does it take our entire community to make it successful, but the proceeds benefit our entire school community. Faculty work with the students to create beautiful projects for the live auction, Janis Rink is helping the students create a painting that will be on display (and for sale for $10), staff members donated their time for experiences for the Silent Auction, parents volunteered to help with corporate sponsorship, Honorary Committee, decorations and soliciting auction items. Thank you to everybody who has assisted us this year!
Class Art Projects
The highlight of the evening is the live auction of classroom projects. The teachers decide on a project in the fall and each student works on it (even the Toddlers). This year's projects include two classroom quilts, framed artwork, a dulcimer and more!
Past projects have provided opportunities for students to learn about art forms, specific artists, such as Monet and Kadinsky, or music genres (jazz), authors (Eric Carle), botany, and skills like construction, sewing, weaving and stained glass.
A personalized parking spot and "Head of School for a Day" are also auctioned off during the Live Auction.
