June 2024

From the Director's Desk

June's here & so is the sunshine!! Wahoo summer has finally arrived!

Over the last month we've hosted multiple events, several fundraisers, welcomed many outside events into our parks and held many programs, meetings, committees - you name it. As our 23/24 Fiscal Year comes to an end, I just wanted to give a special thank you to our absolutely incredible staff that works above and beyond to facilitate all our various offerings, wear way too many hats and do many tasks that are no where near their job descriptions. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with these wonderful folks and am grateful we enjoy serving the town of Woodbury together.

The other major piece to our puzzle is our equally as incredible volunteers. We've had so many step up and give their time, efforts, skills and sanity for the betterment of this community.

Thank you to all who support our department and the Woodbury community. I am constantly humbled and appreciative of you.

Parks & Recreation was honored to be a part of the Brian Barry Memorial Tree Dedication Ceremony. It was wonderful to see so many of Brianโ€™s family and friends gathered together at the North Green to celebrate a man who has given so much of himself to so many. His spirit will shine on with the tree being lit each holiday season as he will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched in such kind and generous ways.

The May 16 Hoops for Hollow event was a success with nine teams showing up to play at WMS. Aiden worked with the Woodbury Parks and Recreation on this project.
