Women's Health Challenge Final Pitch Event

Join us for the Women+ Health Challenge Final Pitch event. Nine innovative digital health companies that are addressing women+ health issues will pitch for the chance to win one of three $50,000 awards to test their solutions with one of the cutting-edge R&D centers in the Massachusetts Digital Health Sandbox Network.

 

This event will include welcome remarks from Mass General Brigham Chief Community Health and Health Equity Officer Dr. Elsie Taveras and a keynote from Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development Yvonne Hao. Final Pitch Event for the Medicaid Challenge: Revolutionizing Home-Based Care

At the final pitch event for MeHI's Medicaid Challenge: Revolutionizing Home-Based Care, attendees will hear from three companies with solutions to support community-dwelling older adults with behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia:

 

 

At this virtual event, these three Challenge finalists will compete for a chance to conduct a pilot of their solution with members of the Wellsense Senior Care Options (SCO) plan. The pilot opportunity is valued at $50,000 and will be supported by two of MeHI’s Digital Health Sandboxes: UMass Chan Medical School and UMass Lowell.

 

Don’t miss this opportunity to see the Challenge finalists present their innovative ideas and showcase their solutions in front of a panel of expert judges. The event will also feature a fireside chat with representatives from the Wellsense SCO plan.

Innovation Institute Announces Launch of Health AI Assurance Laboratory

The Innovation Institute at MassTech announced the launch of a new Health AI Assurance Laboratory on April 10. Located at UMass Chan Medical School and run in partnership with MITRE, the new lab will be supported through the Technology & Innovation Ecosystem Awards Program managed by the Innovation Institute. Developers of AI-enabled digital health solutions will be able to bring their products to the Health AI Assurance Laboratory for assessment of their features and expected uses, to help foster trustworthy and responsible use. The Lab will also contribute to emerging national standards for the evaluation of digital health technologies, which can support commercial applications for healthcare innovators in the region.

MassTech Intern Partnership Now Accepting Applications

Supported by the Healey-Driscoll Administration and the Massachusetts Legislature, the MassTech Intern Partnership (MTIP) program provides stipends to digital technology companies that are starting and scaling-up across the state to directly support internships for Massachusetts college and graduate students.

 

The program enables eligible companies to hire eligible interns, to help drive innovation and keep our tech sector dynamic, vibrant and growing. Eligible digital health companies may apply for up to 3 interns and can be reimbursed for up to 50% of the intern's hourly wage up to $8 per hour for a total of $3,200/year per individual intern.

ARPA-H Joins DARPA's AI Cyber Challenge

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) has joined forces with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to expand the Artificial Intelligence Cyber Challenge (AIxCC). AIxCC is a two-year competition that seeks novel AI tools and capabilities to find and fix vulnerabilities in software used in critical infrastructure. In collaboration with DARPA on the AIxCC, ARPA-H aims to spur the development of AI-enabled technology to safeguard hospitals, pharmacies and medical devices from cyberattacks.

ARPA-H and FDA Medical Imaging Data Marketplace Network Survey

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are partnering to explore the development of a medical imaging data marketplace to streamline access to affordable, high-quality, regulatory-ready medical imaging data. The joint effort seeks experts to provide key information that will shape how ARPA-H and the FDA address the challenges of identifying and accessing medical imaging data.

The agencies are seeking medical imaging software and product developers, users of artificial intelligence/machine learning medical imaging products and private and public organizations to complete their Network Survey to share their specific needs and challenges. All organizations with relevant experience and expertise are invited to respond. The deadline to provide feedback is Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
