in Milton, Massachusetts through April 13

Nesto Gallery presents Carolyn Muskat: Moving Forward, Looking Back, which features the intricate lithographs of Carolyn Muskat. The interweaving lines and selective use of color in Muskat's work give a sense of deliberate intention in every piece she creates. Above, the piece "Sheltered" uses what could be bright red twigs or branches to stand against a never-ending expanse. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Nesto Gallery is located at 170 Centre Street, Milton, MA. For more information, please visit here.

Alison Elizabeth Taylor: The Sum of it at the Addison Gallery of American Art

in Andover, Massachusetts, through July 30

The Addison Gallery of American Art presents Alison Elizabeth Taylor: The Sum of it, which presents Alison Elizabeth Taylor's stunning works of wood inlay that are used to vividly represent modern-day subject matter. In 40 large-scale works and a room installation, Taylor captures a picture of modern life from the mundane to the exciting to the risqué using a centuries-old artform. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday, 1 - 5 p.m. The Addison Gallery of American Art is located at 3 Chapel Avenue, Andover, MA. For more information, please visit here.

Norma Minkowitz: Body to Soul at the Fairfield University Art Museum

in Fairfield, Connecticut, through April 6.

The Fairfield University Art Museum presents Norma Minkowitz: Body to Soul, an exhibition of fiber artwork by Connecticut-based artist Norma Minkowitz. Her work is "unique among fiber artists" because she creates "hard sculptures from soft materials." Her subject matter too is "hard," tackling themes of mortality, memory and nature. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Fairfield University Art Museum is located at 200 Barlow Road, Fairfield, CT. For more information, please visit here.

Call for Art:

Flow: Art Inspired by Movement and Sound

Dates: May 19 – June 30

The Mosesian Center for the Arts invites artists to submit work inspired by movement / dance and

sound / music. Dance is a form of storytelling. As the dancers move through space the story unfolds.

The story is told through the movements and the music. Sometimes the story is personal and sometimes it embodies a culture. MCA seeks work that explores the connections between music, dance, and the visual arts.

How does movement and sound translate into visual art? How are movement and sound depicted in visual arts?

Submission Deadline: April 3, 2023
