Increasingly, it is understood that females have been missed or misdiagnosed when it comes to an autism diagnosis due to differences in presentation and cognitive ability. In this presentation, Sarah shares her review of the small amount of research in the field of female autism along with a breakdown of how the female profile does meet the diagnostic criteria, but sometimes in a different way. Relationships, interests and commonly seen traits will be discussed. Sharing insights from her own life as an Asperger female and those of women she has met and interviewed, this talk will give a glimpse into the world of women on the autism spectrum.
