Dear Parents,

I am excited to share with you our full Back To School edition of the Wolfhound Wednesday with information regarding back to school forms, sign ups, Meet The Teacher and how to access homeroom assignments.

Morning Drop-Off and Afternoon Dismissal Plans for the 2024-2025 School Year:

I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight our plans for morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal for the upcoming school year. Morning drop-off will begin at 7:45 a.m., with cars following the pattern outlined on the map below. If you need to drop off your child earlier, please consider utilizing our morning latchkey program, which opens at 7:00 a.m. For more information, you can contact Karol Halm, our director, at mrs.halm@stbrigid-school.org.

This year, we are implementing a NEW dismissal procedure. Parents are asked to find any available parking spot on campus and park legally. Please walk to Door #20 (Enke Hall) or Door #16 (Gym) to pick up your student(s). The children will be waiting on the sidewalk with an adult, and parents are to walk their child(ren) to the car. You may then leave at your discretion.

Full details and maps are available in the article below.

Important Notice: Scam Emails Targeting Our Community

We want to bring to your attention that we’ve been receiving scam emails from someone impersonating members of our Home and School Committee, including our chairs Sarah Graf and Heather Cesarz. These fraudulent emails come from various made-up accounts—the "from" name may appear to be a parent's name, but the "from" email address is typically a random or suspicious address.

Please be vigilant and carefully check the "from" email address whenever you receive an email. These scam emails often ask for a favor, and if you respond, the sender may request that you use your Venmo or Zelle account or purchase gift cards and send the PIN or barcode to them.

Important Reminder: No one from Home and School would ever ask you to use your personal payment account and then reimburse you via email or phone.

If you receive any such emails, please do not engage with the sender and report the email as spam or phishing. Your caution and attention are greatly appreciated.

Closing Remarks:

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we navigate this challenging situation involving Mr. John Denzel. We remain in close collaboration with Diocesan Safe Environment officials and are diligently maintaining our volunteer and employee screening programs. The criminal investigation is ongoing, and we understand that it will take time.

We are steadfast in our commitment to rigorous background checks, stringent security measures within our facilities, and strict adherence to Diocesan Safe Environment Policies. As we welcome our children to the 2024-2025 school year, please rest assured that their safety remains our highest priority.

As the new school year approaches, let us embrace Pope Francis’ message “to rediscover, proclaim, and build hope” in our daily lives. Together, let us seek ways to spread seeds of hope, love, and care, making the world a better place for all.

Summer blessings,

Kathy O’Reilly

Car Rider Arrival Instructions

For our returning families, we are doing the exact same traffic plan (pattern) as we finished the school year 2023-24, without utilizing the “S” pattern in the Enke/ Recess Lot.

  1. Main School Drop-Off. Doors Open at 7:45 AM to admit students
  2. Please be patient, courteous, and follow staff instructions. Especially the first few weeks until all feel comfortable with the routine.
  3. Drop-Off Zone is the RED ARROWS on the map. Please Pull as far forward as possible to the front of the building where the Drop-Off Starts (second crosswalk, past the flagpole near the preschool doors labeled on map above as “Drop-Off Zone 1st Car) before dropping off your student(s).
  4. Students are to exit PASSENGER SIDE ONLY of the vehicle onto the sidewalk
  5. Students can enter the building only at two locations: GYM ENTRANCE or MAIN ENTRANCE. Remember, please pull as far forward to the front of the building (MAIN ENTRANCE) as possible before students exit your vehicle.
  6. School Buses are utilizing the loop in front of the church for lane of travel and will be parking (3 at a time) in front of the preschool (just past the crosswalk). Cars will pass the busses on the left slowly to exit the campus.
  7. If your student needs extra time (large school project, crutches etc.) please park in the front lot and walk them up to the sidewalk in front of the school.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We expect this plan to run as smoothly as it did last year, due to all your help.

Feel free to reach out to me for anything, and welcome back!

Bruce McKenna, bmckenna@stbrigid-school.org

NEW Car Rider Dismissal Instructions

Due to the increased need for parking for PARISH events, we are doing a NEW Car Rider Dismissal Procedure.

  1. Bus Riders are dismissed at 2:50 PM
  2. Car Riders are dismissed at 2:55 PM.
  3. Please DO NOT arrive earlier than 2:30 PM for car rider dismissal.
  4. NEW PROCEDURE: Find ANY parking spot available on campus and park your car legally. DO NOT park in the MAIN LOOP (shown in map with red line).
  5. Walk to Door #20 (Enke Hall) or Door #16 (Gym) to pick up your student(s). Parents will NOT enter the building. Parents will meet their student(s) outside the doors. Parents are to walk their child(ren) to the car. You are then free to leave at your discretion.
  6. Please leave the campus no later than 3:05 PM, so we can proceed with preschool dismissal pattern.
  7. FOR EARLY PICK-UPS / SICK STUDENTS: Please Park in the lot in front of the school and walk up to the Main Entrance. DO NOT Park in the main loop in front of the school as it is a Fire Lane, and we utilize the loop for preschool arrivals and dismissals.
  8. Please be patient, courteous, and mindful of pedestrian traffic at all times, especially during the first few weeks until all feel comfortable with the routine. Parents are responsible for the monitoring and safety of their child(ren) while walking to their vehicle.

Feel free to reach out to me for anything, and welcome back!
