During all the excitement of Homecoming week, we had the privilege of honoring the remarkable academic achievement of nine of our students. It was not only an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and dedication throughout their high school journey but also to showcase their impressive academic performance.
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for U.S. high school students. Semifinalists are the highest-scoring program entrants on the PSAT from each state. Distinction as a National Merit Semifinalist is a prestigious achievement and we congratulate Youwen Wu on this recognition of academic excellence.
We are also thrilled to announce and extend our heartfelt congratulations to Abbas Benhamida, Alexander Crisafulli, Daniel Chiarelli, Drew Arney, Graciela Kerr, John Pau Mendoza, Molly Osborne, and Sara Barron who have received recognition through the 2023 College Board's National Recognition Program. These students have earned a place of distinction, and this honor is a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence and their relentless pursuit of knowledge.
All of these students have set a remarkable example for their peers and for our entire school community. They inspire us to strive for our personal best and to make the most of the educational opportunities we have.

LOCAL FUNDING RENEWAL & PROTECTION MEASURE
SRVUSD is one of the highest performing school districts in the nation. However, over the next two years both a local voter-approved funding measure will expire and the District will have exhausted $6 million in State funds that have been supporting our schools. These funding sources are currently used to support core academic programs, small class sizes, and programs that help ensure students are prepared for college and careers. To learn more about steps the District is taking to supplement and replace the loss of this funding and maintain high student achievement, please visit www.srvusd.net/HighQualityEd.
