Baby Yoda Takes Saratoga Success Into True North

Having won three of five starts with a third during his career at Saratoga, Florida-bred Baby Yoda returns to his favorite track Saturday in the Grade 2 True North presented by F.W. Webb. The 6-year-old gelding will also be trying to add to the record of recent success by Florida-breds Firenze Fire (2021-’21) and Imperial Hint (2018) in the six-and-a-half-furlong True North for 4-year-olds and older, which this year offers a purse of $350,000.

Tiz the Law Filly Fastest At Day 2 of OBS June Under Tack

A filly from the first crop by multiple Grade 1-winner Tiz the Law worked a quarter mile in :20.40 to produce the fastest time at the distance during the second day of under tack works previewing the Ocala Breeders' Sales June Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age.

Contagious Equine Metritis Update

On May 23, 2024, the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames, Iowa, reported confirmation by bacterial culture a positive case of Taylorella equigenitalis, the causative agent of contagious equine metritis (CEM), in an 11-year-old domestic pony mare in central Florida.

Rattlesnake Bridge returns to Florida

After spending the last couple of years in Illinois, Thoroughbred stallion Rattlesnake Bridge has returned to Florida to stand at stud. 


Laura Willson of LFW Farms in Ocala has been searching for connections to the stallion’s pedigree and has been following his progeny for the past six years looking for an opportunity to acquire a polo pony prospect by the son of Tapit.
