Florida-bred Gabaldon fired an impressive debut to upset the $110,000 Royal Palm Juvenile at odds of 16-1 at Gulfstream Park Saturday, earning an invitation to one of six juvenile stakes at Great Britain's prestigious Royal Ascot meet in June.

Florida-bred Champion Honey Dijon Scratches Out of Mamzelle for Horseshoe Indianapolis Handicap

Brad Grady's Honey Dijon scratched out of Saturday's $225,000 Mamzelle at Churchill and will instead make her first start of the year in the $150,000 Horseshoe Indianapolis Handicap for 3-year-old fillies at one-mile on the turf at Horseshoe Indianapolis Wednesday.

Richman Wins the Illinois Derby at Sportsman's Park

1991-With Jerry Bailey aboard, Florida-bred Richman won the Grade 2 Illinois Derby at Sportsman's Park for his second Derby victory.


After winning the Grade 3 Louisiana Derby with jockey Pat Day at Fair Grounds on March 3, Richman and Day teamed up to finish second to Hansel in the Grade 2 Jim Beam at Turfway Park on March 30. They then finished third in the Grade 2 Arkansas Derby won by Olympio at Oaklawn Park on April 20.
