Florida-bred Arthur's Ride Takes Top Beyer Number Into $1 Million Whitney

Glassman Racing’s Arthur’s Ride, who turned heads at Saratoga Race Course in June with a nearly 13-length victory and a 111 Beyer Speed Figure, takes his sharp form against some of the nation’s best older horses in the Grade 1 Whitney at Saratoga Saturday. The $1 million Whitney has attracted a full gate of 12 set to go nine furlongs on the main track.

Florida-bred Ghostly Rose Ships to Monmouth for Tyro Stakes

Fresh off a nearly three-length score against special weight maidens in his only race, Florida-bred Ghostly Rose has been installed as the 9-2 choice in the $100,000 Tyro at Monmouth Park Saturday. The gray or roan son of Battalion Runner is one of seven 2-year-olds who will go five furlongs on the turf in the Tyro.

Jockey Julien R. Leparoux is approaching a personal milestone of 3,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through Friday, August 2, Leparoux was at 2,991 wins. He has four scheduled mounts at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday.

Trainer George Weaver is approaching a personal milestone of 1,000 Thoroughbred career wins in North America (US and Canada). Through Friday, August 2, Weaver was at 997 wins. He has two horses entered at Laurel Park, two horses entered at Saratoga Race Course, and two horses entered at Monmouth Park on Saturday.
