Winthrop Harbor's Memorial Day Parade

The Village of Winthrop Harbor will host its annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29, 2023 in honor of the fallen men and women of our United States military. This annual event is organized together with the Winthrop Harbor Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post and proudly supported by the Village of Winthrop Harbor. 

Please join us as a spectator or participant in the parade.

The Winthrop Harbor VFW Memorial Post 7448 will have a Memorial Service presented after the Memorial Day Parade at noon on Monday May 27, 2024 at Veterans Memorial in 38 Acre Park.

Veterans Memorial at 38 Acre Park - Artillery Piece Repainting

The Village of Winthrop Harbor would like to give a special thanks to Sergeant Bill Bogdala and resident Jesse Wood for volunteering their time and effort in repainting the M5 3inch Artillery (76mm) @ Veterans Memorial in 38 Acre Park

This weapon was used at the tail end of WW2 and in the Korean War. In the mid-'60s, an American Legion post in WH was granted the M5 3-inch artillery piece(76mm).

This artillery piece was donated to the village in the late 70s and early 80s by the American Legion. Now resting at Winthrop Harbor
