The Village of Winthrop Harbor would like to give a special thanks to Sergeant Bill Bogdala and resident Jesse Wood for volunteering their time and effort in repainting the M5 3inch Artillery (76mm) @ Veterans Memorial in 38 Acre Park
This weapon was used at the tail end of WW2 and in the Korean War. In the mid-'60s, an American Legion post in WH was granted the M5 3-inch artillery piece(76mm).
This artillery piece was donated to the village in the late 70s and early 80s by the American Legion. Now resting at Winthrop Harbor
Veterans Memorial at 38 Acre Park.
