The 8th annual WinterWonderGrass Tahoe wrapped up this past weekend in Tahoe, CA to three days of world class music, mountain adventures, and jam-packed crowds. WinterWonderGrass has established itself as a premier festival in the roots, bluegrass and Americana scenes and over the years has featured bands on the cusp of monumental career milestones including Grammy-winning acts Molly Tuttle, The Infamous Stringdusters, The War and Treaty, to name a few.

The artist community at WWG is part of what makes the festival so intimate and so unique. Throughout the weekend, many of the artists sat in with each other.  This year was packed with memorable moments including Jay Cobb Anderson of Fruition who sat in with Pickin on the Dead as well as Supergroup WinterWonderWomen - Lindsay Lou, Megan Letts (Mama Magnolia), Emma Rose (Sound of Honey), Heather Gillis (Wolf Twin), Michelle Pietrafitta (Banshee Tree), and Mimi Naja  (Fruition).  Andy Frasco’s late night Sunday set saw a rotation of guests including Torrin Daniels (Kitchen Dwellers), Pixie (Pixie and the Party Boys), Jay Cobb Anderson (Fruition), Lindsay Lou, and WinterWonderGrass Founder,, Scotty Stoughton.

The exclusive Tram Jams (a ride up the famous Palisades Tahoe Tram with WWG All Stars serenading 8,000 feet above the ground)  are always a highlight at WWG and this year was no exception. 2024 saw intimate Tram Jam performances from Sierra Hull, Kitchen Dwellers,  and Pickin’ On The Dead with members of Two Runner.

Following WWG Tahoe, WonderGrass will head south to Baja California Sur to a small fishing village for two unforgettable days in the sun and on the sand.  The Baja lineup features Fruition, The Lil Smokies, WinterWonderWomen, Pickin’ On The Dead, Bonfire Dub, Special Guest Mark Morris, and Jess Clemons.

On the heels of Baja, RiverWonderGrass will kick off in May and will run multiple trips through September. RWG will feature intimate river journeys, where members of the WinterWonderGrass artist community join an adventure through the heart of desert canyons. Empty sandy beaches, majestic hikes, thrilling whitewater, and musical floats are combined with healthy foods, deep conversation, and space to reconnect with each other. Patrons will enjoy a riverside musical performance each evening, plus improvisational jams.
