Winter Warm-Up
Saturday, December 3 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

The Rice & Larpenteur Alliance and partners are gearing up for a festive winter community event on Saturday. We hope you can make it!

We'll keep warm with free food hot off the grill, giveaways, live music, bonfires, hot cocoa and coffee, llama petting zoo, and more.

Also, many families are in need of warm winter gear this year, and we are proud to partner with Maplewood Costco and the City of Maplewood to help collect new and gently used Winterwear. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the event!

Thank you to our amazing event partners and sponsors. For details, visit Eventbrite.
What else is new?

  • Rice Street from Wheelock south to Pennsylvania will be reconstructed in segments. Check out the design and information and stop by the Winter Warm-Up to meet with the ReVision Rice Street team and pick up your copy of "Cooking With Rice," a community report (and cookbook!) on the project.

  • BizRecycling grants up to $50,000 are available for businesses of all types (even apartment buildings) in order to reduce waste. Whether its just getting free recycling, garbage, and food scraps bins or investing in equipment for your business that will reduce the amount of garbage created, BizRecycling consultants and grants are a win-win for business and environment.

  • Our Creating Connection to Lake McCarrons through Public Art program, funded through a grant from Capitol Region Watershed District is complete! Enjoy beautiful designs created by local artists with ideas generated by community on utility boxes at Rice Street and Arlington, Nebraska, Wheelock, and Larpenteur.
  • Learn more and provide feedback on this program with a short survey.

  • A new Karen and Nepali Grocery Store will be opening soon in the former Lamplighter Lounge space. We are excited to welcome this new business to the community. Follow the RLA on social media for updates and an opportunity to celebrate!

  • Rice and Larpenteur area businesses gathered this Fall at Hearthside Pizza for networking and to hear a presentation on Ramsey County's Open To Business program - a free service for current and prospective small businesses.
