I hope this message finds you safe and warm. This has been a week of unprecedented challenges for our City, Region and State. I know so many of you have been impacted, and to say it's such a challenging time is an understatement, to say the least.
We have been in preliminary contact with the SBA Houston District Office about the Federal Disaster Declaration. The state has asked for a major disaster declaration. Once the disaster declaration is granted, the disaster lending mechanism process typically starts shortly thereafter. With the widespread impact in the state, there may be an impact but the SBA will be working diligently to share information for businesses who need assistance. As soon as more concrete information is available, we will start sharing out with our members.
In addition, the Chamber has created a Winter Storm 2021 Resource Page for our members to access the latest information available to help businesses recover from this unprecedented winter storm. We will be updating the resource page over the coming days and weeks.
