The Coast Guard
A pure example of the greatness of our warriors
What profession, or group of civilians, with families to feed, would
continue to work without a pay check? I truly marvel at the dedication
of our men and women who have taken an oath and have honored that oath
to the ultimate extreme. It is our Coast Guard men and women who are
always faced with servicing—a perpetual deployment—ever-ready to protect
us. In this environment, it is time for us to gather together to show
all our Coast Guard men, women and their families our support. How many
boaters have been saved by these brave men and women when no one else
would dare venture out into the wild seas? How many of our children and
adults have been saved from their persistent fight in blocking drugs
from entering this country? Our commercial and private vessels can
travel our seas knowing that there is a big Brother out there, watching
and guarding. It is now our time to “guard and protect” them and their
families. Without a paycheck since December 31st, we need to step up to
the plate. There are babies and children to feed, bills to pay and the
essentials of everyday life to be attended to.
We at HIT have been there since the "first" of January. Please help us in
helping them. Our CARE 4 OUR COASTIES Campaign is one area that you can
help. A donation of a roll of paper towels, a container of laundry
detergent, or a package of toilet paper--these are items that are not
necessarily available to food pantries. Although we have quadrupled our
financial support to the greatest food pantry on Joint Base Cape Cod,
FRESH Market, we also recognized the need for non-food items. Please
look into your heart and consider supporting us in supplying these
necessities for our Coast Guard families. It is time for us to do our
“rescue mission” for them!
Thank you from the heart,
